Looking for the best internet in Puerto Vallarta? We tell you which companies keep you always connected.

Looking for the best internet in Puerto Vallarta? We tell you which companies keep you always connected.

The internet in Vallarta has improved over the years, but even now in 2025 don’t expect 100% reliability . It’s not uncommon for the internet to go out for a couple hours up to a whole day, and in the hurricane season (Jun-Nov) if there’s damage it’s not unusual for the internet to be out for more than a day! Furthermore, if your power goes out which is also not uncommon in Vallarta, you will lose your internet connection unless you have a backup system.

A good backup plan for unreliable internet is either to go to a coworking space, or a café nearby that has a different internet service provider than you have at home. At ángulo cowork we have a redundant internet connection with two providers and we have a backup power supply on all our internet equipment. This is how we ensure incredible internet reliability and speeds even during hurricanes! Our system automatically fails-over whenever a problem is detected.

If you really need amazing internet at home, consider getting multiple service providers and connecting to your backup when your primary has an issue.

To help you navigate quickly and without surprises, here is a ranking of the best internet companies in Vallarta:

#1 Totalplay

Speed: It is known for offering speeds of up to 1 Gbps in some areas, which makes it the fastest option. In addition, being the only ones that use 100% fiber optics, it is positioned as the market leader.

Reliability: In general, it is well valued for its reliability. Its fiber optic infrastructure is very reliable and less susceptible to outages or intermittency, although there are some reports that coverage may be more limited outside the main areas of the city.

Customer service: Customer service can be a source of criticism when it comes to wait times and the quality of telephone service. However, it has improved over time.

Google score: 5 / 5 stars ⭐️

Packages: 100, 200, 300, 500 and 1000 Megas

Prices: From $600 MXN/month - $1,799 MXN/month

Some packages may be more expensive depending on the additional services you choose (such as pay TV or landline).

Best plan: Up to 1200 Mbps in fiber optics (Internet + TV package).

#2 Izzi

Speed: Izzi offers speeds of up to 500 Mbps in its fiber optic service, but coverage and connection quality may vary depending on the area. In areas where they only have copper, speeds can be much lower and the connection more unstable.

Reliability: Izzi’s reliability is variable. As a company that does not use fiber optics in its entirety, in areas where it only offers cable or DSL, users may face frequent drops or intermittency problems.

Customer service: Izzi does not rate very well in terms of customer service. Complaints about long waiting times and unsatisfactory responses are common. There are also multiple comments about network failures.

#3 Telmex

Reliability: Like Izzi, reliability varies depending on the area. However it presents better comments from the public regarding its network.

Customer service: Its customer service is not the best. Frequently, long waiting times for problem resolution are reported. In some cases, customers report that it takes several days for the company to come to the customer’s home to solve problems after the problem has been reported.

#4 Cosmored

Speed: It has different speeds, depending on the contracted plan and the area. Their offers include fiber optic connections, which in general allows them to offer higher and more stable browsing speeds. However, some users have reported that the connection speed does not always match what is promised in the contracts. Speeds can be affected by factors such as congestion in the network, poor condition of installation equipment or problems with cabling, etc.

In addition, they only have coverage in a few areas of Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta.

Reliability: Fiber optic plans can be good but some customers mention fluctuations in speed and signal loss, which affects the usage experience, especially during peak hours.

Customer support: When it comes to customer support, the reviews are not good at all. Most people say that the agents are rude and not very professional, and that they do not solve problems as they should. They always tell you the same thing: that there is a “general glitch”, and the wait times for help are long, which only increases frustration.

Google score: 2.8 / 5 stars ⭐️

Packages: 50, 75, 100, 200, 200, 300, 500, 750 mbps, 1 GB.

Prices: from $320 MXN/month - $2,000 MXN/month

#5 Megacable

Speed: In terms of speed, Megacable has launched fiber optic options in certain areas, with plans offering from 100 Mbps to more than 1 Gbps in some regions. However, it is not the most popular option compared to its competitors due to its customer service issues.

Reliability: it has worked on improving the reliability of its internet service, seeking to offer stable and fast connections in most of its coverage. Although it has traditionally relied on HFC (Hybrid Fiber and Coaxial) technology, in recent years it has invested in expanding its fiber optic network in several areas. Even so, its coverage is not the best since.

Customer service: Users are very dissatisfied with customer service, describing it as lousy and unreliable. They complain of interminable waiting times, lack of response and problem resolution. Many mention that they never get effective assistance, even after hours of calls.

Google score: 1.8 / 5 stars ⭐️

Packages: 100, 200, 300, 500 mbps and up to 1 GB in fiber optics

Prices: 510 MXN/month - $810 MXN/month
